![]() A few weeks ago () my living room alarm set off a fire alert around 9pm one evening. Other examples of this are detailed below.įalse alarms happen out of nowhere. None of the other alarms in the house were triggered. The only alarm that went off was the one directly in that space. I had one CO2 alert last year due to a spill in my basement makerspace/workshop whatever you want to call it. That is to say of the 6 alarms I have installed in the house it's a gamble when one is triggered that any additional alarms will also be triggered. The interconnect feature does not work reliably. After that next iOS update and some updates to the Onelink app the devices have been stable and without connectivity issues. It was a nice touch on their end and I appreciated the call. First Alert had someone call me to walk me through the setup and make sure I didn't have any other issues. They did however confirm the issue was prevalent with customers using iOS 14.2. I opened up a support ticket and they would have me remove and add the devices again and say that they could see them connected and checking in from their systems. I went through the setup multiple times because the devices would show "no response" in HomeKit and in the OneLink App they would show "setup needed". Setting these things up initially was a huge pain. ![]() Everything in Homekit (natively where possible) and get alerts on potential danger wherever I'm at.Īt the end of my remodel in September of 2020 I purchased six of these detectors with three being on the main floor and three being in my basement. No chance of sleeping through a basement alarm when I'm upstairs. I bought six First Alert Onelink Smoke Detector and Carbon Monoxide Detectors, Model No 1042136. Part of that investment was smoke and CO2 detectors. In 2020 I had my vintage 1967 bungalow remodeled and as a part of that remodel I made the decision to invest in as much new technology as it made sense to do so.
